Commission on Higher Education (CHED) through the memorandum from the Chairperson dated January 31, 2013 encourages all schools, institutes and universities in the Philippines to participate in the 27th Annniversary of EDSA People Power Revolution on February 25, 2013.

The celebration is in accordance with the pertinent provisions of the Republic Act No. 7722 or otherwise known as the "Higher Education Act of 1994".

This year's celebration will further highlights the significance of education in nation building and commitment for unity with the theme "Pilipinas Natin, Abot Tanaw Na".

Some schools have already declared to have no classes on February 25. But some employees are expected to report in the school on the said date.

Please refer to the scanned image of the memorandum below for complete information.

    Harlem Shake
If you think that Geeks are just weird and very serious people, maybe it's time to break that judgment because sometimes they're not! Truth is, they also know how to relax, to enjoy the real world and share happiness with other people just as much as you (probably) do!

To prove that fact, several technology companies, most of them are based in the United States, posted videos online of the newest certified smash hit dance craze known as "Harlem Shake" which collectively has already 12,000 versions posted on YouTube and other video sharing websites around the net. Geeks on  making this video relate that they took a much-needed break from making and marketing their technology to enjoy a good, hearty session of the Harlem Shake!

People at tech giant companies such as Intel, Google, Groupon, vBox, Path, AOL and HuffPost, Ebay, TechCrunch and Startup Weekend are only few among those geeks who temporarily depart themselves from their busy work to show the world their other positive side. What they did actually looks very funny and despite the only 30 seconds (some are less) length of the dance you'll find enjoyment and mind you, you can't help to try it too.

I know some Isidoreans, especially the younger generations can relate so much to this--this is actually the main reason why I am sharing this on this page because when I was in high school there's this song or dance they called "Harlem" and it's really a hit to everyone in the campus and even outside the school. Like when that song is played in a Barangay's benefit dance everyone would go wild and crazy dancing to the beat!

So sit back and enjoy the series of Harlem Shake videos below and by the way let us know which one for you did the best version by leaving a comment below!  :D

National and Local election is here once again and as the campaign period begins, we'll start to see the streets flooded by flyers and banners of all the faces of aspiring candidates--truth is, they're already doing it even if it's not campaign period. Perhaps, even our social media profiles (Facebook, Twitter etc.) will be ruined by campaign ads of these politicians--this type of campaign is also known as "silent campaign".

Politicians will go in every corner of the town, handshake every people they could reach and, as you might picture it as well, will trick you of the sweetest but poisonous words from their mouth. I'm not generalizing all politicians though. In fact, there are really some of them who still have good intentions to be of service of the people. Who are still willing to sacrifice their time to serve well in the government. Politicians whom we can look up to and consider as modern day leaders!

It is imperative that we, voters, should be wiser this time. How many times we are opted to believe on a promise of an aspiring candidate of a government project that just flew into clouds after they are elected? Who among these candidates this coming election are really committed to the obligations of being public servants? Are they really capable enough to give us good governance? Such questions and many other things are worth considering as conditions in choosing our next set of leaders.

Whether you came from a well-off family or a poor one, choosing our leaders this election will take the slice of what we, and this country in general, will become in the next six years. So follow the basic rule: VOTE WISELY!

Here are the list of official candidates for both national and local (municipality of Libmanan only) positions for May 2013 National Election. To whom will you give your trust among them? You may leave your comments below.

University of the Philippines (UP) now released the results of its entrance exam--University of the Philippines College Admission Test (UPCAT), for aspiring high school graduates who wish to pursue their course at the most prestigious public and open university in the country this academic year 2013-2014.

There are almost 75,000 students who take the test but only 13,000 hopefuls made it to become an 'Iskolar ng Bayan'.

A 128-page of student lists, some with still pending cases is published on its official website and two other mirror sites namely, upcat.pregi.net and upcat.stickbreadsolutions.com. The mirror sites are to counter the heavy traffic of all the viewers visiting the main site so if you cannot access the main website, try viewing the result in the two alternate sites.

Here's the complete list of UPCAT Passers as seen on the UPCAT website (main)
